Okay, so here’s the deal. We’re all part of a big society that revolves around ever-changing trends. Though the constant change in what the ‘new best thing’ is can be quite daunting and we find many things lack validity because you’re just not sure what to believe!
We get that.
When it comes to skin care routines, treatments and products, there’s always something brand new emerging from the market convincing us it will give that heavenly glowing skin (which is what we all want, right?)
At L’Amour, this is the exact reason why we do our research before offering any of the treatments that we do. There’s science behind every result and it’s our job to know it all so you can just… well, enjoy the results! With this strong philosophy keeping us on course, we did our extensive search and planning before bringing you our (very anticipated) Microneedling service.
Okay, let’s back up slightly and give you everything you need to know about Microneedling so you can become just as excited as we are blogging away about it!
So what exactly is Microneedling?
Microneedling skin therapy is the process of using small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin. These small contact points encourage the body to create a wound healing response and renew the skin cells. As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect.
The aim is to reduce the appearance of scars, fine lines, any pores and hyperpigmentation of the skin.
It’s a lot less terrifying than what the name may imply, unlike acupuncture, these small needles do not find themselves going directly into your skin, but instead a roller is typically used, and clients experience next to no pain during the procedure.
So now you know the process, I’m sure you’re wondering what the benefits are. Well, we’re glad you wondered because there’s a lot to love about what you’ll see post-treatment.
– Anti-Aging: There are various indications of skin that is aging and one of the most prominent ones is fine lines. As we grow older, the collagen in our skin declines which is why our skin may become looser and thinner. With Microneedling, the tiny punctures to the skin is allowing the derma (deeper layer of the skin) to simply rebuild. This increases the production of collagen which, in essence, is reversing the signs of aging skin and reducing these lines and wrinkles.
– Reduces acne scars: We have all experienced our fair share of problematic skin, where that was during our teenage years or perhaps dealing with adult acne. Acne leaves scars on the skin which sink inwards and can be more difficult to get rid of. Without being too invasive on the skin, microneedling works well to eliminate the lasting appearance of scars and marks compared to treatments such as laser therapy.
– Treats Pigmentation: Pigmentation of our skin can be a result of clusters of melanin residing in one are compared to the rest, and therefore causing dark spots and uneven skin tone. By generating new skin cells, microneedling helps to disperse these clusters of melanin, and overall restoring a more even tone and reduction of discolouration.
So now we have you (hopefully) just as obsessed with this effective treatment as we are, make sure to give our clinic a call on 07979 552338 to book in your appointment.

Until next time..
