Bored at home? We’ve put together a mini-guide on what you can do to make the most out of your time in quarantine:
1) Start your day gratitude journaling: At a time like this where we are far removed from our normal routines, daily luxuries and family members and friends – it is really important to remind ourselves of everything we are grateful for. This not only reduces stress and anxiety, but will position your day on a positive note.
2) Home Workout: Working out is not only important to release endorphins and minimise stress, but you can also work on that dream body you have not had the time nor discipline to previously achieve. There are a mammoth number of home workouts online by personal trainers, youtubers and fitness bloggers to help you get into shape and achieve your body goals. You can also check out your fav gym on Instagram as they may be doing classes over IGTV. This will help you maintain positive mental health.
3) Catch up with friends and family: Facetime/Skype/Houseparty your friends and family. Checking in on one another has never been so important. You can also get creative with what you do virtually by:
- Having dinner at the same time with friends. Make the same thing and compare.
- Throw an online game night.
- Watch television shows together.
- Organise a book club.
4) Focus on a business venture/skill: Outside of these circumstances, it is easy to get bogged down in the daily stresses of life. Take advantage of this time and plan that business venture or project that you have been thinking about. Get pen to paper and take baby steps everyday.
5) Learn a new language: Learning a new language may take some time, but it will be incredible coming out of quarantine knowing (atleast) the basics of a new language. It is a challenge that you can set your mind to.
6) Watch a Netflix Series: Some of us feel guilty binging on Netflix (unless we have bossed the day and it is well deserved). Quarantine is a time where you can enjoy netflixing, watching the show that everyone is talking about, and joining the discussion.
This list by no means should make you feel guilty about down or lazy days. It is a difficult time, and emotions will differ from day to day. We are hoping that this will help you to keep your spirits high. Please do share your quarantine diaries with us. We are super excited to hear about them.
